Step1: Download Ambibroker .
step 2: After installing run it.
Step3: Now go to ur computer's start-->all programs-->ambibroker-->ambiquote.
Step4: Make sure that you have the latest version( i think the latest as of now is version 1.94) of the Ambiquote, if you don't, you can download the same from http://www.amibroker.com/.
Step 5: now, go to ambibroker, and create a new database, you can do that by file-->new database.
give a location on your comp and click create.
then you see a drop down menu at the bottom("Base Interval Time"), select End-Of-Day there and say ok.
Step 6 : Now open amiquote again.(computer's start-->all programs-->ambibroker-->ambiquote)
Step7: Select Edit --> Add tickers
in that box, type the yahoo symbols of the stocks that you want seperated by commas.
for Ex: for nifty, type ^NSEI, for IFCi, type IFCI.NS and so on... and say ok. also you can get all the script codes at http://in.finance.yahoo.com/lookup
Step8: for source, select Yahoo Historical, and make sure that Autpmatic Import is ticked.
Also select the date range that you want.
Step9: you are ready now.just click the play button on the top(a green button).
There you go....you can see all the tickers in ambi broker.....Enjoy.
Let me know if you face any problems.
Note: This is the procedure for extracting Historical data, you dont get intraday data this way. i am still researching on how to get intraday data...will let you all know shortly.
